After the Fact<\/strong>

How did you know the sun would come up?
Were you sure the night would not last?
The instant I felt the sun\u2019s warmth on my face
I knew that the darkness would pass.

On what evidence did you base your case?
Now tell me, how did you deduce?
It happened yesterday just the same way
As I gave up and thought, \u201cWhat\u2019s the use!\u201d

Sometime after midnight panic set in
My faint heart constricted with fear
That\u2019s when I consoled myself once again
\u201cHold on the dawn\u2019s not far from here.\u201d

Faith is the substance of things we hope for
Evidence of things we can\u2019t see
Still, past preservations from God we ignore
Pass them off as no guarantee

God asks the question, \u201cNow who\u2019s in control?
Have you any doubt that it\u2019s me?\u201d
\u201cLORD, I believe you with my heart and soul
But\u2026could you help my unbelief?\u201d
