I tell you Time can fickle be.
Whatever you may think of he
Saved or wasted makes no difference
Time has one eternal vigilance.

I try to think of him as friend.
Oft I\u2019ve been told he\u2019s on my side.
But, from experience I would say
Evidence points the other way.

There\u2019s no such thing as Passing Time
For passing you is more in line
With what is truth, I tell to you
A steady pace Time does pursue.

Whatever comes, Time marches on
Taking no heed of anyone.
He sees not what is good or bad
His focus on the road ahead.

\u201cTime look! We\u2019ve reached a lovely site.
Oh, rapture sweet! Stop here I might.
Such joy, such happiness it\u2019s been
We may not pass this way again.\u201d

I beg, \u201cLet\u2019s linger here a while
Before we go another mile.\u201d
My pleading cry he does not own,
Time pays no heed, still marches on.

Today, I struggle up a hill
Anxiety and pain I feel.
Seems life on me is crashing down,
Tormenting sleepless nights abound.

\u201cPlease, please let\u2019s hurry past this place
Another day I cannot face!\u201d
Uncaring, Time pays me no heed,
Keeps steady pace not changing speed.

\u201cOh Time, please stop. I can\u2019t go on.
Kept pace with you I have so long
And yet to stop you have not dared
Despite the moments that we\u2019ve shared!\u201d

\u201cCan you not pause now at the end?
Oh Time, I thought you were my friend!\u201d
My last request he does not heed
But marches on as is his creed.

Now, I must stop and lay me down
Make my bed in the cold cold ground.
Time does not pause to shed a tear,
But just keeps marching on from here.
