{"id":77,"date":"2022-03-16T21:11:20","date_gmt":"2022-03-16T21:11:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vhw.oze.mybluehost.me\/?page_id=77"},"modified":"2022-03-16T21:11:23","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T21:11:23","slug":"the-chimney","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.rythmicchimney.org\/staging\/2056\/the-chimney\/","title":{"rendered":"The Chimney"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse has-text-align-center\">The house it was gone but the chimney still stood\nMajestically midst ashes and blackened charred wood.\nReminder that here was where someone would come\nTo warmth of a family, this place once called home.\n\nThe glow of a fire, the smell of fresh bread,\nA place to sit down, a comfortable bed.\nWhere the strain of life's labors and cares of the day\nThe open-armed welcome quite melted away.\n\nThe wind in the brambles now covering the ground\nWhisper secrets of children who once played all around.\nFaint hints of laughter and squeals of delight\nYoung specters still chasing the fireflies at night.\n\nThe call of a mother is heard in the wind,\n\"The darkness is falling.  It's time to come in!\"\nThen sleepy-eyed specters are tucked in for the night.\nWhispered prayers by the bedside, sweet kisses good night.\n\nOh, the treasury of stories that chimney could tell\nBout dreams, cherished hopes, disappointments, as well,\nOf the ones who once dwelt in that house long since gone\nWho came in and out daily and called the place \"home\".\n\nBut tomorrow has dawned, it is no longer today.\nNow the ghosted of the dwelling have all faded away.\nTime's hand has erased them.
