John 10:10 The thief cometh not; but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy; I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Satan steals precious things. He is not interested in my financial or material possessions. He sneaks in and takes family, husband, children, relationships, and peace of mind.
His specialty is interfering with communications. He promotes misunderstanding and contention. This deceiver twists simple statements into knives of insult and sarcasm that cut deep, causing wounds that are slow to heal. Wounds that leave ugly scars.
He preys on our lack of faith, our unbelief. By piling worry upon worry, sorrow upon sorrow, burden upon burden, he builds a wall that we cannot see over as he takes away our precious things.
I read in I Peter 5:8 that …your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour. Satan is constantly honing his devices, his techniques to deceive. I am terrified by the dangers that constantly threaten my precious things.
How can I battle such an adversary as this? Can I continually be on guard looking ahead, to the left, to the right, and behind to counter his attack from all directions? No!! I am not able! Then how do I preserve and protect my precious things? How do I insure them against such a thief as this?
I take my precious things and place them in the hands of God. He alone is able to keep and protect against anything Satan can bring against me. My LORD is able to heal and restore. He is able to rebuild and renew all Satan has destroyed and taken.
My God will provide protection and peace of mind if I trust in him and submit to his will and his way. I can be confident in the fact that his way is perfect.
Psalms 34:7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
